The Visual Basic programming group develops software for local and parish government agencies using Microsoft Visual Basic and Visual Basic .NET in conjunction with Microsoft Access or Microsoft SQL Server.

The three software packages currently installed are:

• Occupational License
  • Tracks all businesses with occupational licenses
  • Keeps up with delinquent businesses
  • Prints and tracks liquior licenses
  • Prints and tracks amusement device licenses
  • Tracks all payments for each business with an occupational license
  • Tracks all funds collected
• Property Tax Billing and Collection
  • Creates database from files sent to the LA Tax Commission
  • Prints individual tax notices
  • Updates for supplements and deductions
  • Records payments, refunds, NSF checks, delinquents, and tax order changes
  • Automatically distributes taxes and payments to the taxing bodies (towns, districts, etc.)
  • Prints multiple summary reports
  • Tracks correspondence from non-payment through sheriff sale
  • Prints certified statements
• Sales and Use Tax
  • Tracks all businesses within the tax authority
  • Generates due records for a specfic period
  • Tracks payments and delinquents
  • Distributes monies collected to proper jurisdictions
  • Tracks collection letters for no filers, NSF, and under pay
  • Tracks overpayments
  • Keeps a history of transactions
  • Summary reports by jurisdiction, geographical area, and tax districts
